Mission 3 - Discord of the Mind

With the Concord’s experimental transwarp drive still offline in dire need of parts that cannot be sufficiently replicated, Lieutenant Commander Gulati and Captain Driskill set a course for an asteroid field where Gulati has identified promising levels of various minerals, tritanium, and other alloys. Some of which have caused speculation of the presence of a Borg vessel or at least debris from one. A primary component of the damaged transwarp drive that Concord used to reach the Delta Quadrant were coils from Borg transwarp drives.

What the USS Concord finds amid the asteroid field is a mineral enriched moon with traces of Verterium cortenide. The moon has an atmosphere suitable for humanoid life though initial scans yield nothing significant, though concern is heightened by the confirmation of a small Borg vessel seemingly marooned on the surface of the moon. With no indication of recent Borg activity in the sector, an away team is sent down to board the wrecked vessel and investigate with caution.
